On June 18th, PCYC hosted a cruising seminar. Graham Shaw and Julie Kinnon showed slides and talked about what it takes to go up-river, all the way to Prince Edward County, and Benoit Fleury gave a presentation about going down the St. Lawrence all the way to La Gaspésie. Both presentations were much appreciated and we look forward to further trip reports from our members. Anyone looking for more information is invited to contact the club (or our presenters) who will be happy to share.

Up the St. Lawrence

Graham and Julie regularly cruise up the St. Lawrence, through three locks (Beauharnois, Snell/Eisenhower, Iroquois) and the lakes and rivers between, and into the Thousand Islands and beyond to Kingston. Below is the presentation they gave.

Down the St. Lawrence

Benoit Fleury has been making regular trips down the St. Lawrence for years now. He is flexible in his work in that he can work remotely from his boat, and so he takes his time making his way through the St. Catherine locks, down to Quebec City, Tadoussac, Gaspesie, the Mingan Archipelago, and many interesting places en route. The difference between the two directions of the St. Lawrence is stark, and highlights the geographic and natural diversity of Canada that we sometimes take for granted. Here is his presentation.

We thank all our presenters, volunteers, and attentive audience!
