Start Keelboat Sailing
Ideal for individuals with limited on-water experience, this entry-level course focuses on building basic sailing skills, particularly in operating a keelboat as part of the crew. By the end of this 12-hour course, participants will be able to confidently assist in the operation of a keelboat in moderate daytime conditions. This course is perfect for those with little boating experience or anyone wanting to try sailing on a keelboat while learning the fundamentals in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Participants are expected to work towards achieving their Sail Canada certifications.

Basic Cruising
Ideal for sailors looking to build on their introductory sailing experience, this comprehensive course develops the skills and knowledge required to operate a cruising keelboat safely as both skipper and crew. Over a minimum of 28 hours of training, participants learn boat handling under sail and power, docking, anchoring, navigation basics, weather interpretation, safety procedures, and crew management. By the end of the course, successful candidates will be able to confidently command a keelboat in familiar waters during daylight hours in light to moderate conditions. Individuals with minimal on-water experience should consider completing Start Keelboat Sailing, or Basic Cruising may be taken directly by those ready for a more in-depth introduction to cruising. This certification is the next step in Sail Canada’s cruising pathway and provides the foundation for Intermediate Cruising and, if desired, the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

Private Lessons
For a more personalized learning experience, our private lessons are the perfect option! These lessons combine theory sessions with one-on-one on-water instruction from a professional instructor. After three lessons, you should be able to navigate a small course with minimal to no assistance. Each lesson lasts three hours and can be scheduled at a time that works best for you.
