As per Section 6 of the PCYC By-Laws the Executive Committee must designate five eligible members to constitute a Nominating Committee. This committee is mandated to select, vet, and propose candidates for election to each of the executive positions to manage PCYC for 2026.
In accordance with the club by-laws we will proceed with the normal due diligence expected of the spirit of the Nomination By-Law. Here are the next steps and expectations.
- The members of the nominating committee for the 2026 Executive Committee are: Annie Pullen-Sansfaçon, Martin Benoit, Jack Turgeon, Bruce Vineberg, and Rob Girling.
- Any voting Member or their spouse shall be eligible to nominate for, or to accept nomination to, any elected post on the Executive Committee of the Club, and a Member may not accept nomination for more than one post at any one time. Associate Members shall not be eligible to stand for nomination to the position of Commodore, Vice Commodore, or Rear-Commodore.
- Notice of the nominations proposed by the Nominating Committee shall be given to the Secretary, in writing, not later than the 15th of September, and these nominations shall be notified to the Membership before the 30th of September.
- All nominations must be made in writing, signed by the nominators, and accompanied by the written consent of the nominees to serve if elected.
- Any five Voting Members together may independently nominate one candidate for each or any office or position. All nominations other than those made by the Nominating Committee must be deposited with the Secretary no later than noon on the 15th of October or earlier than the 3rd of October.
- A list of all nominations and the names of those Members sponsoring them shall be included in the notice calling the Annual General Meeting.
