Racers have always enjoyed these meal events; and also the experience of being part of the &#8220;meal preparation team&#8221; for one of these evenings.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Note: We are also looking for volunteers to prepare meals on Thursdays<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Non-racing members may also volunteer to prepare a meal. And, are also welcome to sign-up to enjoy a sailors supper.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The calendar for 2024 for these great meal events is from May 23rd to August 29th. The Shore Officer is responsible for recruiting volunteers to host these events.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-75 has-custom-font-size has-normal-font-size\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/pcyc.ivolunteer.com\/supper_2024\" style=\"border-radius:10px\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I volunteer!<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The following provides some specifics about what is involved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Preparation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"A\"><li><em>Between 25 and 40 (maximum) meals are required; mostly depends on weather forecast;<\/em><\/li><li><em>A team of 2 to 4 (max) is all that is required;<\/em><\/li><li><em>A quick review of the kitchen, the oven, available pots, pans, utensils, condiments etc, a couple of days ahead, will make your event easier;<\/em><\/li><li><em>Simple, tasty meals are the best ( such as\u2026casserole, lasagne, shepherd&#8217;s pie, pasta, or anything tasty). Typical menu is a main dish, small salad, French bread and dessert (ice cream, fruit, ready-made squares are good choices); non-meat choices will be appreciated by some members;<\/em><\/li><li><em>Food can be bought ready-made (Costco, for example) or freshly prepared;<\/em><\/li><li><em>Total food cost can be up to $250 depending on number of meals prepared;<\/em><\/li><li><em>Theo Perring from our Office will be pleased to prepare an inviting menu poster for display in the dining room; please email the MENU to <\/em><a href=\"mailto:pcycoffice@pcyc.qc.ca\"><em>pcycoffice@pcyc.qc.ca<\/em><\/a><em> no later than Monday morning.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cooking and serving<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em> Hats, or hair nets, and shoes are required (no sandals or flip-flops);<\/em><\/li><li>Food must be ready to serve when racers return; if any non-racers wish to eat earlier, the Chefs may serve some meals earlier at their discretion; last meals should be served by 9:15 PM (approximately);<\/li><li>Diners must SIGNUP and &#8220;PAY&#8221; at the BAR beore 6:30 pm to recieve a &#8220;meal ticket&#8221; . This ticket must later be presented to the kitchen to receive the meal.<\/li><li>A staff person will assist volunteers with &#8220;kitchen logistics&#8221; and will handle dishwashing and cleanup; the volunteers are expected assist with cleanup to ensure the kitchen is left in good order.<\/li><li>A staff person will assist volunteers with &#8220;kitchen logistics&#8221; and will handle dishwashing and cleanup; the volunteers are expected assist with cleanup to ensure the kitchen is left in good order.<\/li><li>Unused food should be stored in the refrigerator or freezer;<\/li><li>Each volunteer Chef is welcome to have one &#8220;free&#8221; meal;<\/li><li>Any food waste must be deposited into a compostables bin, which will be available in the kitchen.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Advance signup and payment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Meals will be available on a &#8220;first registered&#8221; basis, up to the maximum that has been set, depending upon expected turnout \u2014&nbsp; (40 meal maximum);<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>All Diners must register and &#8220;pay&#8221; prior to the race (6:30 pm cutoff) to ensure they will be served; a sign-up sheet will be available at the bar;<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Meal Tickets will be provided by the Bartender upon payment.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>5 FREE MEALS will be reserved for Race Committee and Markboat people.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Special tickets will be distributed by the Fleet Captain.
